Cannot get Form Capture to Work

We have created the form capture record, added the form capture fields to it, pasted the Form Action URL to our HTML code, added the tracking script, and are getting this error in our designer every time we submit the form.  We are not getting any records in CRM.  Any ideas?

Hi Rhys, I also want this option availability. You can't change the fields option value as it is set to numerical values only. Owen, like myself want to use text as the value.

Its pretty poor to get an email notification and not easily identify want we are being notified about?

This should be a simple fix as many of the poorest quality form designers online have this option to choose the field view.

Hello Doug

Can you clarify what type of form field you are using? I opened a radio button field that I was mapping to a CRM picklist field and was able to adjust the value without issue. I also was able to change the value for a list field that was being mapped to a picklist in CRM.

UPDATE 4 SEPT 2015 09:30am EDT:
The delay in form and survey synchronization has been resolved. Thank you for your patience! If you are experiencing similar issues, please notify our technical support team by opening a new support request.

*****************************************

Our operations team is currently investigating delays that some customers are experiencing in the synchronization of Posted Form and Posted Survey data to CRM. Affected accounts are a subset of those hosted in the US Azure data center.

There is no loss of data, and form and survey results that are currently delayed will be posted to CRM. The operations team is working to identify the cause of the delay and to resolve it as quickly as possible. We will update this announcement as developments occur.

Thank you for your patience.

And we are having the same issues.

Add the ability to display a web form in a dashboard

Currently CRM has the option to include an IFrame in dashboards but, when using the ClickDimensions web content URL, the form displays but does not allow the user to Submit the information.  This would be very helpful as we sometimes use web forms internally as data entry tools.

Subscription Lists and the Add To Marketing List function (inc Outlook Add-In)

What is best practice when using Dynamic Lists tied to Subscription Lists when a User adds a Contact to a Marketing List via Add To Marketing List either on the Contact entity or via the Outlook Add-In. Currently I will need to have both a Dynamic List and a Static List so Users can add Contacts to the marketing List via the CRM Dynamics method. I will then require a workflow to update the Yes/No field on the Contact so that the reporting of who receives the publication and who doesn't display an d reports correctly.

Workflow from Adding Member to Static List due to Subscription Prefrence being Dynamic

Hi,

I have followed the steps to create subscription preference form and the Yes/No Toggles on the Contact Form and the workflow to update those based off of the subscription submission.

However, Users still add members to a marketing list by using 'Add To Marketing List' at the top of each contact page when a contact is selected. This however is only linked to a Static List. I am reporting the Contacts Subscriptions in a view that looks at the Contact Form Yes/No toggle.

Is it best practice to create a workflow that upon a Contacts addition to a Static Marketing list that the workflow then updates the Yes/No field to Yes for reporting.

It seems really messy. Is there a better method?

Kind regards,

Hello Robbie

Those yes/no fields you added should be used as a membership criteria when adding members to a dynamic list. The "add to marketing list" CRM button can't add somebody to a dynamic list since it doesn't know if that person meets the necessary criteria to be a part of that list, and if you are using it to add somebody to a static list, the user doing so should be looking at those fields representing their subscription preferences and not placing them in lists that the person has chosen not to receive. That being said, those fields are only there for record keeping and to help manage list members; they do not actually control the person's subscription preferences. If you add somebody to a marketing list they are opted out of, they still won't receive the mail because the applicable subscription list is associated with their unsubscribe record.

Hello Rhys,

I agree and understand all of the above. However the issue stems from reporting the Contacts inclusion via a view using the Yes/No fields. If a User assigns a Contact to a Static Marketing List associated with a Subscription List and in-turn a publication, I will need to update the Yes/No field also so that the Contact displays on the view. Can you construct workflows based off of a new member to a Static List using an OOTB workflow?

The Click Dimensions method assumes that every Contact decides what they receive when in our business we also subscribe Contacts to publications ourselves.

Thanks.

Another question - how do you distinguish between two different forms? So that you don't have all of your file uploads in one place?

Hi Ben,

I'm not entirely familiar with all of the restrictions that CRM places on <iframes>; however from what you are describing it sounds like there is a problem with the execution of the JavaScript on the form since it is not submitting. There is an option in CRM for dashboard components called  Restrict Cross-frame Scripting that is enabled by default.

You could try disabling this check box and see if the form submissions work in an <iframe>.

I found this article on Microsoft's website to help you do that:

https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/1b4ade3d-91dd-4a57-81a9-6edb7689a9a7/how-to-uncheck-the-restrict-crossframe-scripting-in-a-iframe?forum=crmdevelopment

That option is checked and grayed out on my dashboard settings.

I just checked your article and it seems I was creating it as a "user-owned" dashboard.  I will try it the other way and post results here.

Creating a system dashboard and unchecking the Restrict Cross-frame Scripting checkbox did the trick.  Now I am able to submit web forms through my dashboard.  Thank you!

I also agree with these posts - the current design forces us to create duplicate marketing lists for the sole purpose of the type of subscription.  Courtney, in your example, if you have a "Subscription List - Service Announcements" in addtion to your "Subscription List - Newsletter", you'd have to created 2 more Marketing Lists (Marketing List - Service Announcement Leads; Marketing List - Service Announcement Contacts), yet they'll have the same criteria as the Newsletter ones.  That's an incredible amount of overhead to maintain so many duplicate marketing lists.  When will this change and is there any other short term solution that doesn't require duplicate marketing lists?

Do Excluded Emails Count Toward our Sent Email Limit?

I was wondering if excluded emails count as "sent emails" with regards to our email send limit?

Hello April!

No, Excluded email do not count toward your email send limit as they are not actually sent out.
