Thanks for the clarification, Chad. For registrations, you could set up a workflow that runs when an event participation is created, then updates the score of the associated lead or contact. If you wanted bonus points if they attend the event, you could also set the workflow to run when, for example, the registration status field, changes value, then have a step in the workflow that checks to see if the field's value is "attended" and update the score with another value if it is.
