I would like to start setting up opt-in/opt-out management for the first time in CRM/CD.
Suppose my company has 2 types of emails that they want to send out to existing customers. ( leads are not relevant in this example ). The 2 types are
1. Promotional
2. Newsletters
As far as I could find out, I need to create 2 Subscription lists, one for each, I also need to create 2 Marketing lists and I need to fill those with all contacts. So , endresult is 2 subscription lists, each containing 1 Marketing List.
Then I need to create a web content profile form, which people can use to manage their subscription preferences. The link to that subscription preferences page, I put into each email template. In each Email Send, we use either the Promotional ML or the Newsletter ML.
Is there any objection to the above approach or is there perhaps a better way ? I have tried searching for best practices on this site but was unable to find any. Hope you can give me some pointers or advice on how to set-up best.
