Contact identified via Email Address 2, but Autoresponder Email sent to Email Address 1

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I wanted to share a problem we experienced recently. A visitor completed a form, including her email address. ClickDimensions correctly spotted that the email address matched Email Address 2 of an existing Contact, and linked the posted form to the Contact. However, the autoresponder email (after submission of the form) was then sent to Email Address 1 (because that's ClickDimensions' default behaviour).

I'm pretty sure that visitors who enter an email address on a form expect to receive the promised automatic reply on THAT email address, and not on some other email address that the system may have on them. In our case it was particularly sensitive because the form was a job application form, and Email Address 1 was her professional email address (at her current employer), while Email Address 2 was her personal email address.

We are currently in the process of removing all 2nd and 3rd email addresses from Contact records, and creating duplicate Contacts to avoid this kind of issues in the future.

If anyone knows of a way to avoid this kind of situations, I'd be happy to hear it.
