"Workflow to update Contacts with data in Posted Fields" in ClickDimensions Help - comment added by Allison Macedo

Hi Joris,

I think you could create a lookup field to the Contact Entity and Account entity on the Posted Form record. You'd have to do the same for Posted Field so that the entity would be reachable for editing in the workflow. I have not tried this myself but I think this should work.

In a workflow on the Posted Field record -

Check if it's Posted Form - 2nd Contact field does not contain data.

If the form field is 2nd First Name

Create Contact

Update Contact - Value from 2nd First Name form field into First Name field on Contact

Update Posted Form - 2nd Contact with newly created contact

If Posted Form 2nd Contact does contain data

Update Posted Field - dynamically put the 2nd Contact in the Posted Field's 2nd Contact field

If form field is 2nd last name

Update 2nd contact - Last Name with 2nd Last Name field value

If form field is 2nd email

Update 2nd contact - Email Address with 2nd Email

If form field is 2nd phone

Update 2nd contact - Phone with 2nd Phone

You'd need to run this on all of the 2nd First Name form fields first. And then do the same thing for the Account as well. If you want this to run on creation of the form field you could put a wait statement for a few minutes before this if statement "If Posted Form 2nd Contact does contain data", and that should then make that statement true for the other fields.

I'm using the latest Google Chrome and IE on Mac and PC, along with Click on CRM 4.0.  The submit button on my subscription preferences page is always right justified, no matter what I do.  Anyway to hack the styling?

Why aren't some images not displaying in email?

I am new to the company and am starting to familiarize myself with CD. I am using the Drag and Drop editor to create new templates and images that I am uploading are not showing up in my emails. I have used images that were uploaded previous to me starting here and they are displaying fine within emails. Am I doing something wrong? They are being saved at JPGs.

Automatic Email Response on a Form

We have a form that has an automatic email response once someone has completed. We have recently updated our website creating a short form, the person completing the form, clicks continue and the form is brought up to complete fully. Upon doing so and clicking submit, we have noticed that the person receives two confirmation emails.

How do we handle this so only one confirmation email is being sent?

Thank you

Debbie

Hi Matt,

The thing is I want to delete it, it was a test campaign. My scenario is: I created a manual split test, the Email Send is in the Split Test status code, I do not want to send emails to the remainder. Can I can delete the Email Send without any negative consequence?

Thanks,

Tomas

Hi Tomas,

Yes, if you don't want to actually send the remainder and are fine with not having any additional statistics for this test, it is fine to delete it from CRM.

Hi Debbie,

Are you using the Actions tab on the Form Designer to add the Auto Responder email? If so, open the one for the first form and remove that action so that that email does not go out. To do that go to Settings > Web Content > open the form > Designer > Actions.

Yes, that is how our auto responder is working, but we do not have two forms. Our website designer created a short from with 3 of our form fields, passes those fields on once completed to the bigger form. When the short form fields are completed they hit get started and it sends the auto response, then once they complete the other fields and click submit it sends again.

Hi Debbie,

Ah, sorry for my misunderstanding that. If you look at the Web Content record for that form do you also have the Auto Responder field filled out there? If so remove the information from that field, Save, and Publish that.

Hi Augustin,

I would recommend creating a support ticket for this here if you haven't done so already: http://support.clickdimensions.com We'll probably want to take a look at your template and how it's coded, so it'd be best to share it in a private environment. Thank you!

Hi Ian,

You can run this in one workflow. You'll basically do this setup: http://help.clickdimensions.com/how-to-send-a-form-capture-auto-response-email/

and just add the "Add to Marketing List" step as well: http://help.clickdimensions.com/update-marketing-list-workflow-assembly/

Please let us know if you have questions!

Yes I do but I want the email to be sent, I just don't want it to be sent two times

If you have that field filled out and the Action filled out, two emails will be sent. Remove the content from the fields on the web content record and you will only get one.

Allison, I am not sure I am understanding what you are saying we have the ability to do.

Do you mean there is an input on the form itself that we can change to suppress the second trigger email?  And to clarify, if we are using a short form to pass along data to the long form, are you saying two records are created in our database if someone fills out the short and long forms or is that irrelevant it is just the two emails being sent?

Hi Debbie,

Sorry for the confusion! I think this might be easier if you create a support ticket and we can set up a meeting with someone so that they can see your setup and help you solve this right then. Just create a ticket at http://www.support.clickdimensions.com and just link to this forum post so they are aware of what you need help with without you having to type everything again!

Thanks!
